Well, that’s worked out WONDERFULLY.
WordPress editing tools just don’t work in Chrome.
it’s missing toolbars. It won’t let dropdowns work. This is a no brainer, folks; if the stupid thing can’t do the basic shit IE does, without me having to hunt around for settings to allow me to do the crap that I’ve been doing for ages, fuck it. It gets uninstalled. To borrow- okay, shamelessly gank- something from Ed Hering:

What a useless pile of shit.

Uhhh…. everything works for me… not sure what you’re ranting about man.
And ganking a program because it doesn’t look and act exactly like Microsofts program to do the same thing is kinda ridiculous.
That’s effectively saying to every developer, you better be just like Microsoft in all your programs, just suck less…
IE looks and feels like IE, Chrome looks and feels like Chrome, and Firefox looks and feels like Firefox. They all have basically the same functionality, but yes, they look and feel different.
In Chrome, they give you the absolute minimalist theme, and default setup, as the default. That keeps it lightweight and compatible. In I.E. they turn everything on and give you the full heavyweight right away, and the options are there to shut shit off you don’t need, or that break other shit.
Firefox is kinda in the middle.
Personally, I prefer Chromes approach; but Firefoxes interface. Firefox has a lot more, and better, extensions; and a more polished look and feel.
I use them both. Some web sites look or work better in Firefox, so I use it for those websites. Some look or work better in chrome. Xmarks syncs between all my browsers and all my computers, so all my bookmarks and passwords are saved and I don’t care what browser I’m in.
One thing, I am using WordPress 2.9.1 on one of my other blogs. 3.1 may be different.
I’ve been a Firefox user since it arrived. No problems yet, except for some sites that *only* work with IE. I open IE maybe once every month or so, just for those.
I also use Firefox, except, like Carteach says, for those few websites that only like IE.
I use them all. IE has issues, but works 99.9% of the time. Firefox and Chrome are a little harder to use as I started in Mosiac. Although they are all based loosely on that they work different. Chrome is 2 to 3 times faster than either IE or fireFox using Java.
Guess I am lazy and stay with IE as I can find everything.
I like Mopar!! Your Ford sucks!!
No!
Harleys rule!! Keep your dang Rice Burners!!
Oh we talking browsers?
Firefox most of the time.
IE when needed(rarely) and on some work computers.
Chrome?
Not so much..Not at all and have tried it at work when they refused to update IE to above IE 6 so I grabbed Chrome for my work station.
But then I have Windows, Macs and as of yesterday a box with Ubuntu(not my first time dabbling with Linux either) on it….At home…
Bah, stick with CP/M, I tellya! That newfangled Winders thing ain’t gonna catch on, no how.

I didn’t gank it because it didn’t work like IE, I ganked it because it didn’t work. I searched for about fifteen minutes to find a way to fix it, beyond that, its a waste of effort. Any benefits it may have provided are negated by the trouble it caused me in the first few total hours of use.
I am running the latest Firefox (4.0 – a lot of things have changed, but I’m getting used to it) and WordPress 3.1.
Like others, IE is there for a few sites (mostly work-related) that just don’t work with FireFox.

This thread has everything but a conspiracy theory, so I’ll supply that.
All y’all may just want to “gank” your Chrome. It’s part of the Greater Google Register Your Ass program, and soon enough, Google will have so much information on us that defeating our resistance to the march to Soylent Green will be a snap for the gummint.
I dumped Chrome because it didn’t like to work with Trend Micro the way I had it set up, with Browser Guard. Mozilla loves T.M., and it now loves Abine, the very best scamguard out there.
I have IE 8, and keep it patched, but I don’t use it, and haven’t opened it in months. I’m debating on whether to update it to I.E. 9.
Just my $0.02 worth, I have nowhere near the stars on my geek hat as most who are on this thread.
I tend to not fuck with computers, just use them. I like stuff that works. The more stuff doesn’t work, the more I want to throw it all out a window, and just go outside.
Tried Chrome… prefer FF. Hate apps and websites that force me to use IE.
Now CP/M…
I’d still be using Safari, if it didn’t fight with the photo-insertion magic in Blogger.
Firefox gets the job one for me.
PS: Jim in Gavleston: MDM730 RAWKS!!! …Irv Hoff is something of a demigod. And I have actually accessed an ISP with MDM730 and a Kaypro II, back when. It was…different.
I went to my very first URL on an Apple clone with a CPM card a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.
Once I can use HTML5 for videos and need Flash no more, I can get away from the curse of the Unresponsive Script. The s.o.b. still shows face at home though I went FF 4.0, and less often but sometimes locks the sites on Chromium on this here laptop. To paraphrase Lady MacBeth, “Out, damned script!”
I’m not recommending, but only mentioning PaleMoon as an alternative to FF. PaleMoon is a version of FF that claims to be ported primarily for Windows as opposed to Linux.
I use it and like it and all the FF stuff migrates effortlessly.
Chrome loads faster on my slow laptop, but FF/PaleMoon has Interclue, Google toolbar, etc. that I miss in Chrome.
Hmmm I’ve been using Chrome and WordPress together for ages and never had a problem…
Did you clear out all your cookies? My online banking had an issue until I did that with Chrome, but otherwise I haven’t had an issue.
