My dear old friend and confidant mlle Jenny
is concerned for her aging doggie Zeke.
In your day, if you would set aside a moment to say a brief prayer for Zeke, I would be indebted to you.
I will pray that Zeke either be OK, or that God takes Zeke home to him swiftly with minimal discomfort.
In cases like this, it is, after all , the animal whose best interest we must consider; it would be nice to say “keep Zeke around for his family” but that puts the needs of humans before the need of the animal in question, so Lord, do what is best for Zeke.

Done.
All you ever have to do is ask.
I’ll do it again later.
Lord, hear my prayer.
Thanks to everyone who keeps a thought for Zeke.
Vet says it’s maybe arthritis — Zeke is at least 14 years old and over 120 pounds of Frankendog. (We figure dobie and shepherd and maybe some shetland pony.) The vet didn’t find any overt injury or hip displacement but Zeke is too big for the x-ray machine so can’t say for sure.
A couple of shots and some prednisone and he’s better on his feet but they still come out from under him at any moment.
He’s eating and drinking and doing everything else fine and wagging his tail like always … just can’t stand up so long so good.
We hope he gets over this. We will do what it takes for him but we’re not going to put him through suffering neither.
Please keep my bestest boy in your prayers. Zeke is a finer creature than most people I know.
Jenny
My dog Maxx lived almost 19 years. Cried hard when we put him down. Still walk around his spot by my bed when I get up at night.
