Since I’ve been doing this job
I’ve been amazed at the number of dopers I have met in industry, and some of them at some pretty high levels.
Hey, I dont give a crap what you do in your free time.
Not until a couple of years ago did I realize how important 420 is to them. Today, a LARGE number of my customers are not at work.
So for them, a little 10CC

Not part of my life. I have been in the Army since I was 17, went to Army college, retired army, recalled army, retired again and now work in a mandatory drug testing position for the army as a civilian. The hardest question I have to answer on my security clearance interview is “have you ever used drugs”. When I answer “no”, they automatically assume I am lying and that is trouble on the interview.
I never tried it in HS, not because I was a good-two-shoes but because I was boring and no one ever asked me to.
The people I work with are predominantly non users.
Nobody here does either. Guess I’m just a boring guy. Who can’t afford to be any dumber.
As a musician I am always surprised at the prevalent belief that all of us are dopers.
A while back I backed up a troupe of actors in a lightly staged production of “Jesus Christ Superstar.” When the horn section went in a corner backstage to tune before the performance, we found ourselves with a very confused actor in the middle of the huddle.
He said “When you all went into the corner I thought you were smoking.”
Tuning up, not toking up!

I was surprised at how thoroughly stoned the facultuy and staff at the Big Private West Coast Robber-baron University really was – including my Boss.
I quit it long ago when it kept me in Osborn-like confusion, dissonance, and ignorance. It’s not artistic, despite the feeling.
“I never tried it in HS, not because I was a good-two-shoes but because I was boring and no one ever asked me to.”
Its nothing to be proud of either. I think the vast majority of people in the US has tried at marijuana (at least). I know I’ve had the opportunity.
Most people think its ‘no big deal’.
It is a big deal. Not because marijuana is a drug (has mild effects for most people), but because it is illegal.
Where there is smoke, there is fire. Eventually, those who are customers for illegal substances WILL have an encounter with someone who really is a hard-core criminal.
They are not worth getting to know.
Legalize it, Tax it, Charge $8.00 a pack for it, Bust them when they drive like an idiot and make them put on the weird license plates, do whatever you want with it, but for God’s Sake, SHUT UP ABOUT IT BEING A CIVIL RIGHT! IT’S A FRACKIN’ PLANT, NOT THE HOLY OF HOLIES!
Dopers are worse than Wine and Coffee Snobs, damn it!
I have a friend whose sister is married to a pothead, and the guy is a loser. I don’t know or care which came first, the being a loser or being a pothead.
I’m just glad I never touched the stuff. Just like I’m glad I never smoked a cigarette. About the time smoking was the cool thing to do at school, the little old lady who lived next door decided. She died of lung cancer, smoking until the very end.
I’m not saying it’s wrong to smoke either substance, I’m just saying I don’t get why people inhale that crap. My lungs get enough crap in them from life, thank you. I’d like to go on living.
Was a big pot head and even bigger hash head when overseas.
Not proud of it.
Lot’s of funny stories to tell (stupid is as stupid does).
I’d be farther along in life had I not gone down that path.
