Hard to believe how fascinating this stuff was when I was three. Of course, that was it’s target demographic, I suppose. Do the authors/illustrators break free of their insipid bonds at the end of the day, and curse, drink, carouse? Did they go on to illustrate “Little Annie Fannie”? Why were all the rest of the timbertoes naked, and Mom timbertoes had a dress?

I was kinda partial to “Goofus and Gallant”. And the old Highlights magazine may still be found at your family doctors office. (Ours still has it…right next to the Readers Digest and Boys Life.)
