Trader Joes by me
has stilton with apricot pieces in it. If you have a trader joes, and they have this, get some. It is really impressively good, with the nutty flavor of the stilton contrasting nicely with the subtle flavor of the apricot. A nice glass of Chateau Rieussec Sauternes- around 01, I expect- and a piece of good fois gras, and some big caper berries…
Now I’m making myself hungry.

Only here with the “Neanderpundit” would one find a discussion of excellent cheese and wine followed by an observation about “breakthrough” with toilet paper.

You need to email me with the location of this Trader Joes….
Makes my gout act up just reading about it.
I have Trader Joes near me. I am SO there on Saturday. Thx for the tip.

How does one eat large caperberries? Just whole like any other pickle? Can you cut them up and use them like the little ones in cooking? I’ve always wondered.
The large ones are very good, they eat like pickles. You could slice them like scotch bonnets, I suppose. They aren’t actually a berry, but an unopened flower. Finding the really big ones- lik3e cherry size- is bloody hard.
The first time I encountered caper berries, Shannon had a jar of them in the kitchen back at Montague Gunsmithing.
I kept going into the fridge and snagging just. one. more. berry.
Mysteriously, the whole jar was empty by closing time…
They are addictive. I wish I could find gallon jars of the bastards.
They grow wild in Italy. :)
pickled?
uh no… I think you’ld need to go to the Wonka Factory Werks to see one of them trees.
lol.
Field trip! Everybody chip in for gas money and let’s go. My car seats four.
