Nothing but a dog, man!
A greyhound!!
I managed to combine the parts from two older push mowers to make one that ran well, and have been mowing with it so far this year. Unfortunately it still leaks oil, since i was unable to get the block gasket in time I just hacked it together. So it goes through almost a quart of oil to mow the lawn. I didn’t want to mess with it any more, but I also didn’t want to spend $300 on a new mower. So I looked, and HFT had new engines for $79, and a coupon I had brought it down to $68. It’s a Honda knockoff, “greyhound” brand, and as much as I would have preferred to purchase something made in USA, not only could I not afford it, but just about every mower I saw had a chinese engine to begin with.
I mowed only for a few minutes, though, because my mowing disturbed a momma duck sitting on her nest. She has nine eggs in there, and I wouldn’t want her to have to abandon them, She’s back now, and I’m glad, but I won’t disturb her more than once a day if I can avoid it, tomorrow to plant the garden, and sunday, maybe, to mow the backyard. It may be worth letting the backyard get to be even more jungle-like to give her her peace.
Meanwhile, my arms are still twitching as aftereffects from being electrified. The three inch long needle in the neck really got to me, that was downright creepy- it felt like it was coming out my throat. And when the bugger stuck it in the ball of my thumb, it was all I could do not to coldcock him right there. The guy kept talking to me and bending my arms and such as he was jamming this needle in me, it really freaked me out. My arms are covered with scars from years of labor, and none of that ever bothered me, but needles just skeeve me out. Now I don’t know if the electro stuff is what is causeing these aftereffects or thinking about the skeeviness of the needles.

I have a plugged gland just below my left jaw. Have to drain it with an 18 ga. needle every other day. You get used to it. Getting old ain’t for pussies
Bandsaw accident down the middle of my finger.(Not really that far, around an eighth of an inch.) It seemed like I could count the teeth hitting bone. Wrapped it in a paper towel and kept working.
Getting a shot makes me all woozy.
I had that test once, for the same reason: suspicion of carpal tunnel.
The problem turned out to be caused by the way I slept: I was laying on my arm, which compressed the ulnar nerve, leading to numbness and tingling in my hand.
