Like a drug deal, nothing changed hands, so they’re trying to get him on charges of bad intent, which is never going to fly; he’ll walk, especially as the jury is almost all female. Or he’ll get an impossibly short sentence. And be set for the rest of his life by the Machine, paid off for keeping the public eye on the Trial of the Year, while other nefarious shit goes down where the press isn’t looking. the light, as they say, is better on Blago.

Blago is on trial for being a loose cannon. If he would’ve been a typical pol, and kept to the SOP and protocols of graft and corruption, he wouldn’t be on trial. It’s one thing to be a crook. It’s entirely another to be an UNCONTROLLABLE crook.
