A couple weeks now after the surgery
and the difference in my hands is startling. I can feel everything, i can move my hands into any position without tingling and numbness, and I can actually WORK. I can sleep at night without waking up every hour.
I am still a bit tender in the heel of my hands but I am told that could take up to three months to go away. In the meantime I won’t be shooting any high powered handguns.
What this does mean is that I might well be able to draw and fire a bow, which excites me, and I might actually have enough sensitivity in my hands to go fishing again. I’m looking forward to both.

I for one am glad to hear that your doing much better. With the exception of your case and one other, the people I know who’ve been getting way too much way too late to do any good.
Glad to hear yer on the mend.
Anything that allows ya to pick up the bow and/or fishing rod again has gotta be good.
Hey … combine the two, bowfishin’!
Og, your surgery is evidently a success. That’s good, and I’m pleased to hear it.
If you go fishing, use your fly rod, it’s a fine sensitivity testing tool.
That really is amazing! Congrats on a successful foray into surgery. The J.R. needed neurosurgery on his neck to restore feeling to his hands. I’m not sure it’s any worse than what you went through.
That’s great news, it must have been hell trying to work with your nads tingling all of the time…..
Ogblog lurker is glad to hear that you are doing well….
Hey, I’m still having an issue with typing.I used to be able to blame it on my hands, but I guess those days are over. Thanks for pointing out the typos
Hot damn, that’s good news!
Joan: The stuff on my hands was a total nothing, the operation took minutes and I probably could have done it myself. the neck thing on the other hand, good lord! I hope JR is clear and done and recuperated well.
That is awesome to hear!
I’m sorry this is so late coming – but I’m really glad to hear the surgery worked wonders. We never realise how precious our body is until something craps out on us. Sending good thoughts your way for faster healing!
