When in the course of human events
Pascal discusses the parallels between King George and the Democrat party. An interesting read.
Like my question below; will we have the balls to do what our progenitors did, or will we just assume that if we feed the wolf it will leave us and our children alone?

Very bad policy, feeding the wolves…just ask the first two of the Three Little Pigs…
I’ve always wondered: what if that first little piggy came out of his house of straw with a Mossberg Defender, and gave that wolf 3 fast rounds of 00 buck right in it’s ugly snout?
Wolves will kill the weakest first. As they get hungry we all are at risk. We need to kill the wolves, there handlers and their pups. Leave no stone unturned.
Do Not re-elect ANYONE.
“Do Not re-elect ANYONE.”
Indeed. And- whcih may be more important- elect ordinary people who have been in the habit of working for a living.
Sadly, I think we are down to our last chance with the ballot box. It may very well be time for the “other box” to come to the fore.
Brother Og,
Back on June 14, 2005, I’d posted this wee missive:

It is along the same lines as Pascal’s excellent post, but is a bit more expansive on the subject.
Inasmuch that comments have long since closed on that post, I’d welcome reading your thoughts on it here, if that’s ok?
As as for the terminal scenario. Let’s just say that Iris would subsist quite comfortably on her own assets, and that I have no children, both parents have passed, and I have naught to fight for but blood, country and fellow countrymen.
I just don’t have the baggage from which “second thoughts” arise. And, while I may never be the Crispus Atticus of our time, neither will I be found absent from the line.

“Do Not re-elect ANYONE.â€
Not Paul Ryan, Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry, Rick Scott, Marco Rubio, et al?
Anyone?
People who have worked hard and contributed to the effort?
Baby, bathwater?
And before we consider using what’s in that “other box”, let’s see how many RPGs, full auto HMGs and SMGs, modern armored vehicles, secure comms, fixed wing and rotor assault vehicles are in it.
In the first revolution, more than 50% of the population remained loyal to the crown.
Which will be harder or more worthy, to educate and convince them? Or kill them?
Obama is probably the biggest gift we’ve been given in years. As afraid as I am for the Republic, we need to expose him and his lackies for the despicable creatures they are, and it seems to be working. I’m amazed at the public sentiment I see against him when I bring up the subject in conversation.
“Indeed. And- which may be more important- elect ordinary people who have been in the habit of working for a living.”
And there is the rub; the ordinary guy is usually too busy making a living and taking care of a family to think about running for office, even if he wanted to do so.
“In every generation, there are those who want to rule well–but they mean to rule. They promise to be good masters–but they mean to be masters.”
– Daniel Webster
I have a friend who took a buyout and ran for state office. It needed to be done. He lost that election. He’s out of work, but working voluntarily as the party chairman for his county, wondering what God would have him do next.
There can be a price to pay for doing what you think is good for the country. We suspect those who would run for office.
They might risk their livelihood, as patriots do.
And should they persevere, and excel, we demand that they step down due to term limits. Should they feel they have more to give they must seek other office than that which they have excelled in.

Guys (and Gals) – I just came across a quote that fit quite well into this conversation and I thought I would share it with you. Enjoy:
“”These are the times in which a genius would wish to live. It is not in the still calm of life, or the repose of a pacific station, that great characters are formed… . The habits of a vigorous mind are formed in contending with difficulties… . Great necessities call out great virtues. When a mind is raised and animated by scenes that engage the heart, then those qualities, which would otherwise lay dormant, wake into life and form the character of the hero and the statesman.
– Abigail Adams, quoted in ‘Seize Freedom,’ by Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, 2011″”

“People who have worked hard and contributed to the effort?”
Who is worth saving, Ed, do you know? You name several people Are you positive that they are all of good intentions? Really?
I get what you’re saying, but you have to understand what I’m saying. Everyone needs to be put on notice that they can be replaced, and that knowledge has to be firm.
Oh yeah, add Rep. Thaddeus McCotter to that list.
Oh to live a few miles to the north to vote for him.
Thanks, Cond0010.
No, I’m not positive about MY intentions sometimes.
But a glance at their record helps.
And (as you know) you’re right. Keep them on notice.
OK, say I, or Og, or Ed wants to run.
Anyone have a spare fifty grand for county office, 250 for state, 50mil for the house, 100mil for senate, 500mil for the Oval office?
The little people with the ideal, common sense [Truman] will never make first base in this world.
Unless someone [Soros] wants a nobody to put forth.
Ya got that right Skip.
If politicians get the idea they might be… adjusted, for doing a bad job, then there might be a dearth of people running for office.
I have seen all of the ones Ed listed give lip service to the status quo. They are all wolves in sheeps clothing. Or maybe sheep in wolf garb, still they go along to get along.
I thought Michelle might be good, but she suggested just paying the interest to get past this point. That is very bad advice.
That and she is a lawyer.
I still stand by the re-elect no one. We need to send a very clear message that none of them have a job for life. That, and even the good ones have not stopped the needless slaughter of us who pay taxes.
It is all about power and no one should have the levers for long.
