Might be guilty as sin, but the prosecution didn’t prove that to the jury. Thats how this works, folks.
Face it: Human life is cheap, unless it’s yours. A cute white kid dies? Big media circus. Look at the uncleared homicides just from the city of chicago for 2003. Can’t find any later than that. I know that it has gotten worse.
The very bright, the very well connected, and those completely off the radar can do almost anything- and do, all the time- and get away with it. Nothing is gonna change that, either. Ever.
The coverage of this case was fucking repulsive. It’s a god damned murder trial, not a celebrity wedding.
Bleh.
And the Missus wonders why I get all pissy and storm out of the room when she turns on the teevee “news”. I got her her own teevee to have in her sewing room so I wouldn’t have to listen to it.
You are certainly right about some people getting away with crimes they should not. However, I will simply add that the US judicial system works better than most.
Trials like this make me wish for a return to the bad old days when trials weren’t televised.

DSK should not walk. Casey got a walk as the prosecution did not have a smoking gun.
If they could have made her admit, then maybe it would have turned out better. The DA did not have a cause or time of death.
Don’t get me wrong, as I think Casaey was guilty of something. Just could not be proved beyond a legal shadow of a doubt.
People all the time accuse me of things I have not done so I would not like to be strung up because I look guilty. Just goes with the face I guess.
DSK on the other hand will get off because of the soiled nature of the defendant, which is not OK. Not sure how that one will play out, but that bastard is guilty and admitted as much.
