Contact Dermatitis- YAY!
Thankfully I changed clothes quickly, and the shirt I was wearing was longsleeved. SO I ended up with some on my hands and face, mostly from weedwhacking.
Unusually, for this time of year, I never did see jewelweed. You often see it around Ivy, and if you crush the stems and rub it in you won’t get the rash, I just couldn’t find any.

I once used a chainsaw to cut down a tree that was entwined with dormant poison ivey. Very bad idea. I don’t recommend it.

Now you tell me…
Technu Extreme wash works great if you can’t find any jewelweed.
I got a rash last time I weed-eated, but I’ve not been taking steroids and it seems that either my immune system is kicking in or the oils are not as virulent in the last two years.
Could have been giant hogweed…..

FYI, another preventative is ericameria arborescens, “Golden Bush”

I also no longer recommend wearing shorts while cutting back your dormant poison ivey vines with a chainsaw.
