Not getting the point
“Hello, this is the Gambling Problem hotline”
“Hi! uh, yeah, can you tell me if I should draw to an inside straight, or not?”
“Um, sir, I think you misunderstand the purpose of this hotline”
“I have a gambling problem! I don’t know if I should draw to an inside straight!”
“Sir, we usually just help people who need to stop gambling”
“So you don’t have anyone there who can tell me if I should draw to an inside straight?”
“No! We don’t….. Oh, hold on.”
“Mike, pick up line five”
Click.”Hello? Can I help you?”
“I need to know if I should draw to an inside straight, or not”
“yes. Absolutely”
“Thanks! Bye!”
“Mike, that was unconscionable! How could you give someone that kind of advice and then hang up?”
“He’ll be back”

Yep — another March of Dimes or Education Department.
Wow. That’s inspired on so many levels.
I could swear that I overheard my Dad listen to that joke on Jack Benny 60 years ago…
I just made it up, as far as I know. I just have the same thought every time I hear that “Gambling problem? Call XXX XXX XXXX”
Don’t drink and drive … you might hit a bump and spill some.
I like the part how the advice was deliberately bad. Bring the guy right back.
