Ate the first ones out of the garden last night.
Now I’m in my happy place. Excuse me while I drool.
have to remember to get some more celery salt.

There are very few things that taste as good as a vine-ripened tomato, especially if you have some of the heirloom types.
This is my jealous face.
With the weather you’ve had, Tam, your maters should have preceeded mine by at least two weeks. What variety did you plant?
Some of mine are heirloom but most are local varieties. I usually put in at least one Bush Early Girl, which lets me have tomatoes mid-july, but the heirlooms actually did better this year.
I bought a timer and water 15 minutes every midday, which does help.
You realize of course, this means wart! Mine are waaaayyy green. Celery salt, eh? Hmmm……..
Ooops, forgot to proofread. War, not wart!
rdennis: Wart is funnier!
My tomato seedlings failed, so I had to settle for store-bought started plants and I got a late start. Usually, with our normal summer heat killing the blossoms, late planting results in just a few pieces of fruit late in the season.
This year, though, we had and have very mild summer weather (one July day only got to 85!) so I’ve been eating tomatoes for a couple of weeks. Glad you can join us!
Mmmmmmmm..
Ours are finally coming in. Been to dang hot!! Both the ones at home and at the ‘big’ garden!!
But boy are they good!!
And to those of you whom do not like ‘maters!!
FINE!!
More for ME!!
