Damn
While looking for info about my previous posts, I stumbled on a bunch of statistics about the debt. Good lord, do the left ever love to play with numbers to make it look like their guy is doing a great job! This shows pretty much just how far you can trust Wikipedia. (To find the post in question, search “debt by president” and look at th wikipedia entry. Anyone got a REAL accounting of the debt by president, or know where one can be found?)

Chris over at anarchangel has a very well-done post on how we got to this point.
He’s on my read everyday list.
Yeah, Chris and I know each other a long time.
A more interesting graph would be a graph of debt by party in power. Where party in power is 1/3 party in the White House, 1/3 for a majority in the Senate and 1/3 for a majority in the House. From the 2006 Election to the 2010 Election the Democrats controlled Congress, and the only thing worse for the debt than a Democratic Congress with a Republican President is a Democratic Congress with a Democratic President.
Part of the reason that Bush looks so bad in the second term is that midway through the second term, the Democrats retook Congress and spending and the deficit spiked. Also they’re only comparing half a term for Obama compared with full terms for Bush.
I have an Economics Book from a class that I took a few years back that has the Annual GNP/GDP listed for the last HUNDRED years. So when you hear the Ministry Of Propaganda pontificating on the “Worst Economy EVER”, just look at the Stats. I’m sure they are buried in some .GOV site, in the corner, under the stairs, in a locked box that had the key thrown away. But it’s out there. Funny how Reagan had a better economy than Bill Clinton, in spite of 2 recessions and a complete Rebuild of the Military and no Republitard Majority in Congress. But hey, doesn’t the Dictionary say “Marxist-see LIAR”?
