The bee stings on my face, where I was able to reach and scratch out the stingers, they’re fine. The third is still sore, and I’m still getting a bit of the wooziness associated with the toxin.
mr B left a trailerload of wood, and an additional pickupload we just poured on the ground. The pickupload is now stacked, and amounts to about a third of a cord; the trailer probably holds an additional cord and a half or maybe two. I’m just getting ready to order this stove, and hopefully the heating bills will be much reduced this winter. Wife and I are wrecked, though we have days of work left to do to get the wood under wraps. Daughter is playing like she spent yesterday roller skating. Getting old suckles.
Getting old sucks for sure.
But the alternative is worser.

Bring your knees back. The bees are still there. I was spreading more clay on the road, and they still don’t like the Kubota. Wear orange pants and they’ll likely sting you.
Or you could collect them with a shop vac for later use….
Get a Quadrafire insert, you’ll be glad you did. I’ve been sitting in front of a Quadrafire free-standing stove for the last 4 days in the high Cascades, at 5,000 ft elevation, and glad to have that stove to heat this lodge…

But I’m also considering the nat gas version, as the wood version burn box is as small as it is.
The Quadrafires look nice, and I like that they seem to be made here. The stove in our hunting cabin is a QuadraFire, apparently.
They are also four times the price of the stove I’m buying, which is made in Canada, where they know a thing or two about heat and cold. I’m sticking with the mcanadian insert for now, and when I put heat in this room I’ll be looking at QuadraFire for a stand alone stove, though I’d really like a Jotul.
Are you actually ordering it from Northern? I’ve had my eye on a couple things from them for a bit and haven’t been able to make up my mind, not knowing a thing about the company and not having gotten around to doing research on it yet.
