Just because the horse doesn’t seem dead enough yet
let me talk about my feelings on Christian Dogma.
Three years ago this month I was in a Catholic mission in Zambia. I was visiting with my methodist friends and a bunch of folks were there from the local Jehova’s Witness and baptist missions as well.
They were working on getting a reliable, safe water supply to the mission, and it was not easy work. I was impressed by the way they worked together, and surprised to see the baptists and jw’s and catholics working side by each. I asked my methodist hosts what they did to keep peace among people of such varied dogmas.
“They want to make sure people live, first. When everyone lives, then they’ll worry about other things. Life is the first most important goal”
I have never been as impressed by Christians in my life, and the real Christianity of those people call to me still, I desire to be around people that act their faith. They are in short supply on our shores.

Sounds like how it’s supposed to be.
Isn’t there a story, something about “If someone has a broken leg, you fix their leg before you worry about saving their soul”?
Yeah. Thos ecumenical ministries sure do show the politicians how to do “bipartisan” right. None of this “You give over your principles and go along with my agenda.” Nope. Just, “Let’s you and me help him.”

ONBTW: I just noticed that there’s a little prayer in there. The contraction “Let’s” is short for “Let us.” Di’ ya know who it is who’s s’posed to “Let” “Us”? ‘Course: it’s G*d. Let THAT frost some anti-theist’s Wheaties.

lol. The idea of “Let’s” being removed from the lexicon does make me giggle. Not that I think some idiot won’t try.
At the beginning of the Mexican Revolution, before the Christero counter movement, when things were the worst for believers, the government banned the use of the farewell term “A Dios,” since of course Dios is the Spanish word for God, and the farewell literally meant “to God.”
Considering that, removing “let’s” from the language does not seem as humorously far fetched anymore.
