The deer is in the freezer.
The duck flies at midnight.
No! Wait, I mean the deer really is in the freezer. The weather has cooperated nicely to allow me to hang the deer for a couple days, but we’re expecting 40’s and 50’s soon, so it was time. And now it’s done.
Made a lot more ground meat this year, because we seem to use more like that. Backstraps cut into 2 lb chunks, for wellington and etc. Hams made into steaks and all wrapped and packed and freezing. Turkey is brining in a bucket on the front porch. I think we’re finally approaching readiness for Turkey day

John has a long mustache.
I’m reeeealy in the envy mode here- I can’t eat deer meat anymore ’cause of the gout.
Blessings on you & yours on T-day.
Nice….
What he said- Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Og.
Happy Thanksgiving og and your family.

I’m glad you got one! :-) I missed the hunting up north with you. I did have 50 acres of a coworkers nearvy to hunt, just 4 days (so others at work could have a chance). All of my days were pouring and windy, so nothing this year.
Enjoy the bounty and have a blessed Thanksgiving.
