Black Guns
Took the AR to the range yesterday after the morning hunt. It was miserably cold and I’m fighting some kind of sinus infection, so I did not finish out the day nor will I hunt today.
But i did get a chance to put a couple rounds through the AR. It functioned perfectly, everything doing what it is supposed to do and doing it properly. Nothing loosened up, the borrowed mags from Mr B were smooth and wonderful. The sights are a bit off but they are certainly “Moment of home intruder”. And as soon as i can afford to put a Facog on it, I’m sure I’ll be able to do much better.
And now of course i need a 22 conversion kit so I can shoot it cheap.

I have a Colt .22 conversion kit, I’d be willing to let go of.
Come on Og you know you can’t build just one……….

Just as an aside, the Wally Worlds out here have Federal 420rds 62gr FMJ on stripper clips in ammo cans for sale at $150. Not bad for the 62gr stuff.
Jeffro: The Wally world here doesn’t do the bulk ammo stuff, dunno why.
RE: 22. There are so many good 22LR full-time ARs at good prices that I personally wouldn’t bother with a kit. For just a little bit more money, you get a whole complete rifle. Kits tend to have poor reliability.
RE: Bulk ammo. I am still waiting for COSTCO to start carrying firearms. Imagine a 9mm family pack.
Hale: I have a guy close buy who makes the very best quality 223 reloads. I go there, pay cash, and get the very best pricing.
Plus++1 to COSTCO-Arms! Imagine a pallet full of Black Hills goodness…
