The Goto guy for Planimiters is a retired mathematician, and spends his spare time doing things like making simulators for aging computers. . I remember working on old CNC machines that had a similar layout and similar controls, and I was alwasy amused at the way they functioned. You too, now, can pretend that you’re a Brit computer programmer in 1950. The simulator is a free download, and if you’re a real geek, you’ll download and run it.

What’s really neat is the picture of the computer at that link, on display in the glass case.
The wooden part is just the I/O console; the big rack of electronics is the computer itself…and a single Arduino processor is more powerful than that thing is.
