…not gonna reiterate my position on Romney here. Newt–Newt has a lot of problems and I really, really don’t want him to be the GOP candidate for President.
But if it’s a choice between him and Romney, hands down it’s gotta be Newt.
The real problem here is that none of the GOP front runners is worth electing–not one of them–and it all comes down to a case of voting against Obama. In most cases–except for Romney [rest of rant deleted]–a victory by one of them would be marginally better than another four years of Obama.
Marginally. That’s the problem.
There’s also the argument to be made that another Obama presidency will precipitate a revolution; which has it’s good points.

Can’t we just vote in Bill the cat? I have already decided. I am voting against Obama no matter what POS the GOP ends up putting up.

If ever there was a time for a real conservative, it’s now.
mark: A Ron Paul presidency is not only an impossible fantasy, but would be a horrible tragedy.
First of all, even if paul is the sort of simon pure perfect candidate that supporters paint him to be (Which he is not) he would never pass the media scrutiny. If he ever got any populist support to speak of, he would immediately succumb to the MSM anal probe.
Assuming a miracle happened and he survived THAT, he would never accomplish anything from the Oval Office, because of the reluctance of both houses to cooperate with him in any way.
I like to kill time in my ride to work by fantasizing about the what I would do with the lottery money, if I won. it is a pleasant diversion for a few minutes at a time,but I won’t be holding my breath.
That’s the approach I recommend; have a little fantasy now and then, and move on.
