First Amendment blues for the Obangi justice department.
Apparently the Justice department thinks it can tell churches what to do where hiring is concerned, and the supremes unanimously (yes, even including Kagan) tell them to piss up a rope.
I’m very impressed by this; the first amendment makes it very clear that this is not the business of the government. Apparently even the Liberal Deathstar reported on this, though the lede actually emphasised the ‘Ministerial exception” as though the court granted a special dispensation just this once. Bullshit, NYT. this is not an exception, it’s the law of the land. I’m surprised they did this, but it was, at least, the right thing to do. The first is about the free exercise of religion, it isn’t a guaranteeof freedom from religion for people. Justice dpartment telling a church who they can and who they can’t hire? Just as stupid as calling two men or two women “Married”. It’s not about that at all, of course, it’s a wedge. A toe in the door. Let this slip and the next thing you know Churches are as relevant as Kodak film.
Of course that’s what quite a lot of people want. To the detriment of everyone, believe it or not.

It amazes me that people will support the parts of Communism without recognizing the hole of what they support.
How will this influence the growing presence of Shiria Law in the U.S.? Will the Moslems cite this decision as approval?
Ha….Wrong on so many levels
Maj Mike: within the confines of their mosque.
Just as this ruling concerned a teacher who was considered by herself and her employers as “called”.
Your last sentence. Homerun.
