Did HR3200 not drive home the lesson that the FedGov will do precisely as it pleases with or without your support, despite or perhaps because of your protestation? How many times do you have to be burned before you stop sticking your hand in the fire?
I am aware of your point. However, note that the balance of the House of Representatives has already changed because of HR3200. The balance of the Senate and the occupant of the White House may well change at the next election because of HR3200. And some of the supporters of SOPA/PIPA have gotten the message. OK, they haven’t gotten the message because they talk about the need for changes to the bills. They don’t need to be changed, they need to be killed.
Sure, but it’s still meet the new boss etc.. I will believe in ‘Change” when I see it, and I am never surprised.
Well, so far at least, we aren’t getting burned. Just ignored. until the secret police come after teh people who wrote in to complain, there really isn’t any pain. Just futility.
Lot of that futility going around. I always prefer to do something actually useful when I can, instead of goofy gestures of protest.
Intrestingly enough, the Republicans in the House seem to have gotten the message and appear to be against the bill while the Dem-Cong Representatives stay bought with Hollywood money. I don’t expect the “usual suspects” to suddenly turn Conservative, but it is enlightening to see how upset the Prog-Cong are with their Messiah’s minions.
Republican Congressman Lamar Smith is also getting his a$$ kicked here in Texas by anti-ROPA sentiment.
