The political climate is such that with gay marriages between women and buildings, and the church’s freedom being trampled with no regard for the constitution, before long the police will break into someone’s bedroom where a gay couple is livestreaming their 6 month old adopted daughter giving head to a rabid dog while a shaved monkey is ramming live cockroaches up it’s asshoile, and the cops will shoot them on sight because they have incandescent light bulbs in the fixture.
maybe it’s time we headed off in the other direction for a generation or two. it would be farging awesome if we saw a return to anything like moral behavior being the accepted norm, instead of the current ‘if it feels good do it” bullshit.

Why? Because I’ve heard the same overwrought worry from just about the same number in short order.
I wrote about our need to break the societal conditioning last night when I recalled the lyrics to a song by Ten Years After. This sort of knee-jerk reaction to Santorum IS a conditioned response for sure!

I’ll vote for the guy over Comrade Obamavich, but I still do not condone federal overreach into our lives, whether that happens to be what light bulbs we can buy or having some puritan zealot telling me what other willing adults I’m allowed to schtup.
I would point out that Santorum is running for President, not Congress, and Congress makes laws — such as the loonies are so afraid of.
Except that wouldn’t be true. These days, Congress is afraid to make laws — or even a budget — and the President seems to think he’s a king, reining without Congress even being in the picture.

The left doesn’t want tolerance; they want to force opponents to agree with them that their perversions are wonderful, right, and harmless. I was listening to a 50 year old broadcast by Bishop Sheen on the radio at work (I torture co-workers with classical music and Relevant Radio Network…), and his segment was on the fact that we do bad things isn’t new (and he talked about how licentious people had enough sense and shame to stay out of church and not do their deeds in front of the children), it’s that we want to call wrong right that is. Pelosi fights for abortion and government involvement in church doctrine, yet brazenly sticks her tongue out for the Eucharist every Sunday and says, “Well at least MY Catholics will support me.” In better times, she would be publicly excommunicated bell, book, and candle.
Actually, the Muslim people do hate American culture, the one they see in movies and videos they get over there and assume we are all that way. A stopped clock is right at least twice a day, and when the Iranian imams go on their shows and rail against American licentiousness and a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah, they’re not all that off. I’ve met a good number of Muslims in day to day life, some enough to feel somewhat comfortable to ask them how do they live their life in the Great Satan®, and they say, they’re astounded at the number of family folk and believing Christians they run into. They thought we were all godless consumers living for a buck and the next thrill. Still, they maintain a buffer between their families and American society as a people apart so they don’t sink into the morass.
The government has no business in telling a church it must marry a gay couple who came to them asking for marriage then suing for discrimination when they’re declined. Or a bed & breakfast that they must host them, or a photographer that he must shoot their wedding ceremony.
I am a wrong-doer in matters great and small, in omission and commission. I acknowledge my shortcomings, many of which I can probably claim to a greater or lesser extent “I was born that way,” and yet I still advise others to not walk in my footsteps. One fault I hope to never commit is to call a wrongdoing a good, and force others to acknowledge the same.
Cute, how gays are always charging the doors of Christian churches to marry and have it recognized as right and just. I double dog dare one gay couple to go to a Muslim mosque on Friday afternoon and demand they accept and proclaim valid their nikah. Once.

Yes, this country is sick and sad and going to hell in a hand-basket for centuries. And at the same time good and kind and wonderful. Seems it’s always been this way. Been watching Ken Burns on Netflix. Civil War and The West. Terrible things were done. Wonderful things were done. Mainly, if we can just get the morals back, I think it would be a good thing. How do we do it?
