Last week
We had a piece of machinery installed, and it was having some issues which required a special serviceman. He arrived tuesday morning, and when he arrived, he seemed to be Dennis Franz. He looked like him, sounded like him, and acted like him. I had to stop myself calling him “Andy”.
Funny. The first time I noticed Franz it was when he played the villain — a renegade cop in an early episode of Hill Street Blues. He chewed up the screen in every scene he was in. His success was assured after that.
That was back in the days when I stilled watched the boob tube. OMG: I think I just proved to myself how head-filling and distracting is my skill at retrieving useless information. I may take a furlough from posting now.
