There are some things best not examined too closely
I had a mouse that had developed a stickiness to the clickwheel, and I figured it was time for a little housekeeping.
Would that I had been less cheap, and simply purchased a new mouse.
The things I found in that bastard were just not right.
I’m almost afraid to look at the keyboard, now.

If run across some testimonials from school IT wizards that at the end of each semester they have the home-ec people remove all of the caustic rinse-agent from the dishwashers, and then they load up the things with all of the classroom keyboards.
The trick is apparently to give a keyboard more than adequate time to dry before plugging it back in. Losses approach 5%, but they find that acceptable.
Can you say “sloughing off skin cells?”
Skin cells do not usually move around by themselves. I don’t know which is more disturbing, that they might be skin cells, or that those things were…. something else.
Heh…
Had a little issue with my laptop overheating recently. Fan was making the proper whirring noises but not much air was moving. Cracked the case open and two cans of “air” later I had removed a pile of…well…lets just call it stuff and a wad of fur that looked like a small rodent. The joys of having schnauzers in the house.
A buddy of mine that interned with the local power company in their break/fix room once got a laptop across his table from the generating station. It was full of coal dust. Thing was worse than fried.
