I ordered and recived a pair of these shoes.
I then installed in them a pair of Dr Scholls custom fit arch supports, the biggest they had.
Reccomend.
No, really; if you have difficulties finding decent quality shoes, look hard at these. They are made in the US, and they are proper welted shoes. Welting is the process of sewing the upper to a band of materal which is then sewn to the sole. This makes for the most durable construction and is the way high quality shoes are made.
Capp shoes sells these to the military, and they have a bunch of styles, though they’re all somewhat plain. They have women’s shoes, too, though they are probably not the height of fashion.

Yep, good shoes are worth their weight in gold!
Thanks for the heads up, Og. I need new shoes and I’m giving these a try as soon as my tax refund shows up.
In the long ago, when I actually worked, a Knapp Shoe Co. representative came to my workplace every six months or so. He measured one’s feet about s3ven or eight different ways, and delivered the next week. I still have a pair of Knapp steel toed work boots I’ve worn for over thirty years. Best damn pair of foot gear I ever owned. Not cheap, but nearly indestructable and they feel like they’re made from leather from unborn female unicorns. I wore them to work for twenty years, wore them hiking in the Cascades and had ’em resoled four times. Still wear ’em and figure to be buried in ’em. There’s sure to be mountains to be hiked in Heaven and I’ll need good boots. But I’ll give Capp a shot, I need some decent dress shoes.
Looks like a good alternative to the Red Wing oxfords I can’t re-sole after a year and $25 less. Thanks.
At least they come in a size 13.
Too bad they don’t come wide enough. I had to go through Drews boots to get mine wide enough. Got the packer boot (modeled after the 1860’s U.S. army boot) great quality and they fit you based on foot tracing that you send in to them (as well as some measurements)They too are US made some where(already forgot) in the northwest.
