Must be bird day
Vman is talking about Storks. I’ve just come in from yardwork where I saw a Red Tailed hawk.
I love the raptors. We have lots of chickenhawks (red shouldered hawks) in the area, but to see an honest-to-god redtail is a real treat. Of course, there are tons of cars here, and oil refineries and steel mills mere miles away, and I cut down a tree last week thus destroying habitat, so I must be mistaken. Maybe it was a pigeon.

One of my brothers lives on the southwest side of Indianapolis. Earlier this year he walked out his kitchen door and looked in the tree on the other side of his driveway, about 15 feet away. Sitting on a branch about 15 feet up in the tree was a bald eagle. He grabbed his camera and got pictures and then went back inside to wake my niece and nephews but the eagle was gone when he got back. He hasn’t seen it since but ranks that at the top of his “wildlife encounters”.
sweeet!
