It isn’t like I drill a lot
and this last couple years I have had dismal range time, but one of the things I always liked to do was to shoot a couple magazines without my prescription glasses, just safety glasses.
I don’t do it often because I prefer not to have a lot of people at the range when i do
The pitiable thing, in the end, is that I sometimes hit more reliably without my glasses than with.

Funny, I find that I miss just as consistently wearing my Rx glasses as not. I blame the presence of random gravitational vortices. It’s the only reasonble explanation.
I can’t even see my front sight without my glasses, let alone the target, so short of just pointing generally downrange and firing off a magazine to see what I might randomly hit, this isn’t a very good experiment for me :)
Nathan: You should think about it. If you need the gun before you can find your glasses, what you gonna do?
I can see the front site a little better with my reading glasses over my bi-focals. I suppose a lase would solve the issue. Then you have batteries to check on some kind of schedule.
Age…It really sucks, but is better than the alternative.
Good idea, I’m glad you mentioned this. I’ll start making it part of my practice along with offhand shooting.
Things like this are one of the reasons I think point-shooting should be practiced; definitely use the sights when possible, but if it’s not possible… always useful to have another tool in the box
