The Oglet
has her driver’s license.
May G-d have mercy on my soul.
On the tother side of it, it will be fun- if I can afford it- to send her to the same Skip Barber school I went to lo those many years ago.

I’m betting you’d be in for The Most Awesome Dad Evah were you to send her there.
Congrats to the Oglet on this milestone! :-)
B says he will now teach her the fine arts of four wheel drift and bootleggers’ turns (hey, he taught me back in the day). Too much turbo lag in the truck so we’ll have to borrow your vehicle to do it up properly! ;-)
I showed my daughters “Highways of Agony” on YouTube when they got their licenses. Told them “this is what happens when you text and drive.”
Good luck and Godspeed, sir.
Congratulations to her and to you as well for living through it.
And yes, sending her to any good defensive driver course would be a great idea. Sending her to Skip Barber would be even more fabulous, what a deal!

Thanks, all. MC: As soon as B is on the hook for tires and vehicle repairs he can try- but I will place a $100 bill in his hand the day he can drift an AWD explorer on dry pavement. I can do it- barely- but I have a literal half million miles of experience. It takes that, about. Also: You need an automatic knife to do bootleggers turns in an explorer.
Congrads to the Oglet. That is a big step. And a rather nerve racking one for the parents. Take care and have a good weekend.
Did her practice include the icy parking lot/country road test? “OK, now spin out and recover. I did NOT say ‘do donuts!!!'”
Bought my youngest a 97 tbird for 800. She totaled it three times.
Bought my oldest an 88 t-bird. She totaled it once.
Both of those cars generated more cash than they cost.
Just something to think about.
Glad your daughter is getting her freedom pass. At least that is how some of the kids view a license.
The Oglet will begin her career in my old Exploder, with 400,000 miles on the clock. She passed her test in it! I will put new tires and a front alignment in it before I hand it over to her, but it is big enough to protect her.
That is key. Just don’t be too sad when it gets its first ding.
Bondurant may be easier given their touring locations and partner locations. I’ve been to both multiple times for different classes; either are great.
Driving school fun.
Dating former Formula Three champeen and getting “driving school” on public pavement even funner, though not nearly as wise, in retrospect. :D
