Yesterday after the Oglet passed her driving test I came home to discover that the outdoors part of the the AC was not working properly.
Some investigation confirmed that the unit was only getting 135 of the hoped-for 220 volts. So I futzed with it till I discovered one of the screw terminals not tightened as much as it could be, which brought the desired voltage in spec.
Has been working nicely ever since, thank you, and I must echo Ed’s statement.

Teach: The annoying part was, it was a FACTORY screwterminal, not one I did. If it had been one of mine, I could see it being something I overlooked.
With the amount of stuff I have repaired in the last almost 10 years that weren’t soldered in, tightened down, or not even installed at the factory, when it comes to manufacturing screwups nothing surprises me anymore.
Where else does it go from oppressive to heavenly in 24 hours? Our Creator made the Midwest. Challenging, perhaps, but truly a country divinely blessed.
