Coming home yesterday
Sixty or maybe eighty miles prior to the dunk tank, I saw a guy travelling- apparently, cross country- on a pennyfarthing. It was, as far as I can remember- county road 28 between Danville and Rt 63. He was suited up and had a backpack on and all that shit. I assume it’s because he was planning a trip of some distance. Wish there had been a safe place for me to pull over and take a picture.

Gosh darn you…looking forward to a brain-dead Sunday, and you made me go learn what a ‘pennyfarthing’ is so I didn’t feel left out of the loop.
By ‘suited up’ and a backpack, was he Mormon maybe? They have been known to do their mission work from the back of a bike in more rural areas.
Finally, based on your most recent post, I wouldn’t mind a little free advertising and the honor of being added to your blogroll.
Handled. Frankly, I’m glad you pointed that out, I was sure I had you blogrolled, now I do.
Not a Mormon, I’m fairly confident. Never knew a Mormon to have a North Face biking outfit and Camelback hydration pack, and there were Ipod headphones in his ears. Or Iphone, maybe. So I don’t think a mormon. But you never know. Most Mormons I know drive nice Trek bikes. Oh, and bareheaded- no mormon I know goes bareheaded.
Actually, I’m saying Mormon but thinking Mennonite. Mormons tend not to be the luddite types.
When you said ‘suited up’ I assumed you meant ‘dressy’ suit, not biking suit. Even on their bikes the ones around here are in their white shirt and black pants with a black backpack. Curioser and curioser.
No, this guy was suited up like a cross country biker, spandex and that bright colored stuff
