Cleaning
Helping Ed shift stuff yesterday got me at least a bit ambitious to shift some of my own stuff, so I pulled out a box on whch I’ve been stubbing my toes for years, and discovered it to be packed full of 8″ floppy disks, mylar tape of programs I wrote on the Flexowriter years ago, and…. Eeproms. Eeproms holding the ladder logic of machines that have not existed since 1992. Hundreds and hundreds of them.
No more stubbed toes. Little by little, I’ll get this place cleaned out.

It’s nice to banish the toe-stubbers.
Hell, I still remember the ones with a clear window that needed UV to erase.
Never programmed one, but saw plenty of them…
Glad you got something out of helping me. Thanks again! :D
I was pleased to be able to help. Sometimes it’s just having someone to force you to do the stuff because you won’t do it on your own- I know, I’m the POSTER CHILD for this behavior.
Wish I could get you to come over some time and motivate me to get the Fiero fixed. Well, you’ve already gone “above and beyond” and asking for more is unreasonable.
As for the Escort engine, I’ve been thinking about disassembling it and taking it to the scrapyard. Probably get a couple dozen bucks out of that.
The trans on that is probably still OK. 5 spd, right? Is the block cracked? head leak? Ebay, mah brotha.
Ehh, the engine ran fine, but burned rather a lot of oil in #4.
Ebay the transmission? Neat idea, and probably better than scrapping it. The trans is in good shape, anyway–it always shifted just fine.
Sell the engine as rebildable, as well, maybe.
