Five days
working evenings to install Win XP sp3. Stupid thing wasn’t smart enough to check the disk first, finally I ran chkdsk manually and it worked, dumbasses. Now I have allthe blasted updates in place and MSE installed; hopefully that’s adequate for now. Symantec was just killing me.
Why anyone still pays for antivirus since MSE came out is beyond me. I’ve used it for years now, and am perfectly satisfied with it.
Symanec is a bear to uninstall. I am worried about anti virus from the Borg though.
Good move on ditching Symantec. You’ll see a huge performance jump.
You may also see trojans and what not that the MS stuff will not clean up for you. That’s just about guaranteed.
It is a lot cleaner, and I figure I’ll accentuate it all with some Crap Cleaner and a scour through with AVG or sokmething simiular on a regular basis
