I had just about enough energy to mow the lawn today
and as I walked outside to start the tractor, the rain came down like a horse pissing n a flat rock, robbing me of what precious little ambition I posessed. So I took a nap. And now I’m going to go to bed.

For me, it didn’t even require rain. I had no ambition to start with. Dozed on the couch after breakfast. Fell asleep at my computer while trying to write. Took a nap. Dozed on the couch after dinner. Now I lay me down to sleep.
Can’t decide whether getting old is Hell or Dreamland.

Old, eh?
As I’ve said numerous times: I still have little fits of ambition. Fortunately I’ve learned to lie down quietly and nap until they pass.
My pup, Bella, sees the wisdom in this and joins me, as do the cats.
I’ve found few things as relaxing as taking a nap with a pit bull and two cats. No one seems anxious to bother a sleeping pit bull.

After four weeks of physical therapy, I finally felt like I could start up the lawn mower Sunday afternoon. Of course, after four weeks of neglect, rain and warm weather, the back yard was a calf-deep jungle!
Got half of it mowed before I succumbed to the urge to take a nap. Since I’ve got gigs four nights out of five this week, the rest of the yard may wait until next week!
Say what you want about snow – the stuff you shovel pretty much stays shoveled!
I was supposed to mow the lawn too. But despite my best intentions and motivation, the rain prevented me from doing it.
What is this “rain” thing you people keep talking about?
