Remember:
In the fine print portion of your Indiana Ballot, all you Hoosiers, vote “DO NOT RETAIN STEVEN H DAVID”. Ms X says to retain Robert D. Rucker, and as she’s well and truly done her research on this and I mostly trust her judgement, I will vote “Retain” on a judge for a the very first time in my life.
I would be remiss in not mentioning this fine post by Buttercup or this incredible piece by Mark Steyn.
And as much as I love you all I hope to hell I’ve pissed enough of you off that you’ll go out and vote just so you can yell at me later “I voted and things got WORSE!” Which of course they will in either event, I’ve never claimed they wouldn’t.
Vote in the morning people. Don’t lollygag around until nine and make me wait till midnight for the results. I still have a bad case of acid indigestion left over from Bush/Gore. The cost of Tums is skyrocketing.
Well, I fully expect to see a LOT of Shenanigans tomorrow, and all those College Poli-Sci Freshman who were in Kindergarten during the 2000 Debacle will be seeing how their Gooberment really works.
But if you do have a chance to Vote, I’d leave a few hours of standing-in-line time. And EXPECT Tom-Foolery. From what I’m reading about in Florida, it’s looking like the Republitards have decide to jump on the “Chicago Bandwagon.”
I’m betting we won’t know until Thurs/Fri at the EARLIEST!!!
Same in OR, where a civil service temp worker assigned to opening mail ballots took her trusty writing stick and checked GOP names for offices not voted by the voter.
Could be a (D) trick to pre-prejudice voters, hard to say.
Big strike against mail-voting, for sure, and that will REALLY honk off the donks.
Yep. Get to bed early. You aren’t going to see the final tally for several days. Any swing state that goes to Romney will be contested. lawyers are already on site in heavy democratic counties to file injunctions to keep polls open longer. (the longer it is open, the more time poll workers have to fill in the unused ballots).
NJ governor said it is OK to vote by Email. WTF? If that is possible, why can’t everyone do it? Why wait until after a hurricane to announce it?
I can deposit checks to a bank on the other side of the country using my smartphone but I still have to drag my butt out of bed early to click a yes/no button on a touchscreen computer in person?
Will once again find myself manning the local precinct(s) tomorrow. We shall see how things develop. Being the weather is slated to be cold and damp, wonder how this will effect the turnout.
Don’t expect any Tom-foolery, as most folks acting as judges (from either party) will not put up with it. And as far as counting the votes at the end of the day, an honest effort is put in by all hands to see that we have done things correctly. Now what might happen to the votes/tallies/and assorted paperwork, after it gets to the county courthouse (and beyond) is another thing altogether…we do live in the Peoples Republic of Illinois after all.
Dunno, Prof, wasn’t there something in Democracy In America where deToqueville talked about how actually arsing yourself to get up and go to the polls and hobnob with your neighbors was a good thing?
Og, thanks for reminding me to vote against retaining Steven H. David
Yep, all those bad things people said will happen if I vote for Romney? Well, I voted for the guy, and I fully expect all the bad things to happen, just like in the old joke about how a vote for Goldwater would mean riots in the streets, inflation and an escalation of the war in Vietnam.
