The wife and daughter sat up last night and made two sweet potato pies. They are cool, sitting on the counter in the kitchen. I just made a pot of strong coffee. There is a box of heavy cream in the fridge, and the blender is already out.

I am thankful that I have the willpower it requires to not make a big bowl of whipped cream and dip the pies in it and eat them both.

I barely have that willpower, but I have it. The turkey is brining and I am about to go clean the crapper and lay in a small fire in the firebox.

To all my friends who come here and visit, thank you. I do enjoy your company, and blogging for me has always been like having a conversation with people you like and mostly agree with who come and go and read and sometimes comment- like being at a really good party for ten years.
