This
has been one of those mornings when I roll my chair over in front of the gun cabinet and just bask in the glow of those firearms. The M1 carbine, the Win94, the Marlin. I fix the bayonet on the K31. I do the same for the M1 carbine. (I’m still waiting for an M9 for the AR). I check to see that the screw on caps on Ma Bell are tight, and I take the backhoe out of it’s case, assemble it, and lay it on my lap.

“the backhoe” :- expn please. Is this another term for a “trench broom”?
Double. Search in sidebar.
My double is an OU. Makes a hell of a trench.
Rifles in OU are not common because it is thought that it takes longer to get an O/U open. Me, I wouldn’t take any damned chances, that’s sure.
Og,
Interesting timing. Have you seen the Skyfall edition of an Anderson Wheeler double in .500 Nitro Express? That is a great looking rifle. Or would that be rifles? Actually, all their work looks great, I just need to plan the funds to acquire one. Not anytime soon, that is for sure.
That is indeed an excellent firearm, and a bargain for a British double in that big a caliber.
I still kick myself for not picking up a K31 while they we still cheap as hell. Sigh…
On a side note, however, at tax return time it’s highly likely we’ll be shopping for Rave’s first firearm. We’ll obviously be getting some range time in first (twist arm).
I do so love breaking in a cherry…. :)
