Acidman spends a lot of time yapping about his ex(I wonder how all the other folks in detox are handling that), and Steve H spends a certain amount of his time talking about his relationships and how the women he meets all seem to be trouble. Having been married and divorced, and having been through some, er, troubling relationships, there is truth in what both of them say. There are a bunch of women who will mess you up, and figuring out which are which is not always easy, and sometimes you don’t find out until it costs you too much in time, money, emotion.

However.

Women are, remarkably, different from men. And in some damned good ways (besides the obvious plumbing differences) And if you find the right one, which is not as horribly hard as one might imagine (one has but to look) you’re in for a treat.

Other bloggers, like THe Gun Guy have made “lists of things every man should do” I won’t say every man should do these things, but I will say these are some things that are, well, damned nice, and make the search worthwhile.

1: To have a woman want you so intensely, to point a beam of incredible desire at you so intense that you can do little more but lie back and enjoy. This is an amazing moment, and to be married to a woman who treats you like this regularly is… well, it’s damned good.

2: To have a woman with a clear voice and deep pipes lie across your lap and sing “at last” to you (etta james)and mean every word.

3: to lie down, every night, with someone who knows you better than anyone on earth, and loves you anyway.

4:to spend a summer in desperate love with someone that can push every button. And does. And knows all the good combinations. And adds a few you hadn’t known. And knows how to wear a pair of jeans. And smokes your brand. And always has a light. And brings you a warm, damp towel after sex.

Relationships can be a big pain. And they can be so awesome you gasp in awe. I’m married to a woman I don’t in any way deserve. Thanks, Ogwife, for being the most perfect part of my life.
