Last night
I watched snatches of the Ken Burns PBS program “Prohibition”
Huh.
You would think that a guy who did a documentary about the effects of prohibition; how it created a criminal class heretofore unseen in America, how it was an unenforceable mess that ended up with a bunch of self righteous fundamentalist religious nutbags in command, how it created serial criminal families like the Kennedys, you’d think someone that researched that would be aware of the utter ignorance of Gun Control. But like any other typical Democrat, he’s oblivious.
Of course, this is a guy who- despite knowing all the Kennedy’s dirty secrets, was a supporter of the Kennedys till the end.
Our society is dying because we allow the pathologically stupid to continue to breed.

I love Burn’s stuff, but he does tend to spill the kool-aid over his work.
Our society is dying because our systems (constitutional republicanism combined with free market capitalism)work so well that even the pathologically stupid are able to eat.
Up to a point…
