The type of work I do
would lead to schizophrenia in a normal person. I never get to follow a project through to completion, I’m always stopping at randon places and moving onto another job, then getting pulled from that to another- I have no less than five projects I’m working on and am going to get pulled into a sixth.
I sometimes have little daydreams about being able to workl on one job from it’s beginning to it’s completion.
Oh, it has happened, at least sort of; I worked on a job for a major mfr of locomotive engines for almost two years, and I only got pulled away from it fifteen or twenty times, so it was almost like I worked the project through, but these days it’s never the same place two weeks in a row. it takes a specific personality to do ths work, and so far as I know, I’m it. Sheesh.

What if Attention Deficit Disorder is a feature not a bug?
I used to be able to work six support tickets in parallel, but I think that’s probably not the same thing :) For one thing there was no travel involved :)
I work in an electrcal test lab. I take care of the maintenance and the testing. In addition I also build automation for global manufacturing. I have machines in the US, China, and Mexico. I am a very busy person.
