One of the most annoying
and, frankly, ignorant shibboleths of the left is “Guns were designed from the beginning to kill people”
It’s the fallback position when you point out that swimming pools, auto accidents, and illicit drugs kill more people than do guns. it’s what they have instead of reason.
First of all, it is a lie. Firearms were invented- and perfected- to give the weak an equal footing with the strong, so that physical strength and strength of numbers did not endanger the freedom of the individual. This is the standard answer to that, and always should be.
On the other hand, the one I like most is to begin clubbing them about the head with an aluminum baseball bat saying “Great! So you will be less dead when I cause your vacuous head to collapse because THIS was designed to play a game, not to kill people!”
Frankly, the only reason I don’t do that is the action of cracking one of their skulls has the same effect as a divide by zero incident. No thanks, I don’t want to be sucked into that rift.

Well said, as usual.
I always thought that the first firearms were created to put something tasty on the table without all of the work.
I agree with them and say “Yes, firearms are designed to kill. When someone tries to kill me, I will use a firearm to kill them first, and probably at such a distance that I won’t get splashed.”
Nope. First things that went bang were Chinese and the military made them to scare the opposing force.
If you want something tasty on the table without much work trapping is really hard to beat.
Paul: That’s true, but never bring truth to a table where liberals are seated.
Well, then are you setting a honey trap for trolls?
Have not seen a good troll bash for awhile. You must be feeling pretty perky.
What’s wrong with a DivideByZero or Overflow exception?
They’re easy enough to trap…
