Today.
I will think of those people who went away, and did not come back.
I will also think of those people who came back broken, either internally or externally, and felt that pain all their lives.
I will speak their names out loud to those around me.
I will remember what they gave for my freedom, not without a little shame for not protecting the gift better.

“not without a little shame for not protecting the gift better.”
Amen, brother
I enjoyed the wonderful words of those who actually gave their lives for us. What a concept! They will never know what a cell phone is, the Internet or even a microwave. Amazing.
Today, outside of Phoenix, I met an old Vietnam vet (65) who is walking across America fm San Diego to D.C. carrying the American flag & “Support the U.S. Constitution”.

It’s a 100 degrees & he’s out there on a dangerous highway, but he’s risking his life, again, for the defend of our freedoms. What a concept!!
I gave him a few bucks, but he needs more since he’s passing out pamphlets of the U.S. Constitution. He seems to be the only one actually in the trenches!! I support him!!
Sadly, I have not lived a life worthy of their sacrifice. Please forgive me.
Patrick, you can get in that line behind me.
