Just in case
Anyone ever attepts to sell you a Select Comfort bed, I will let you know right now: Shoot that person in the face. Preferably with a Judge so they are humiliated AND dead.
We purchased our bed years back. it was advertised as “Adjusts to the individual comfort level of two people” How could we lose? No innerspring, air! never wears out! Replace the air completely free, if you want! Lifetime Warranty!
Well, a couple things. The top comes off, and you’d think it would be washable, but it is not. If you wash it it turns into a ball of crap.
Also, that lifetime warranty includes: the air bags. The foam side rails and cover are not included in the warranty. if you TOUCH the sides the foam eventually collapses, the top foam is fragile and dies quickly. Replacing it is obscenely expensive so we replaced it with a memory foam pillow top.
Sleeping on it. Well, if you really do intend to only sleep, it’s not too bad, assuming you have a partner who has the same “Sleep number”. If, on the other hand, your sleep number is 70 and your partner’s sleep number is 25, you are sleeping on a cliff. One false move and you’re on top of your partner and not in a way she probably consideres enjoyable. As for the enjoyable stuff, get another bed just for that.
Fucking annoying piece of shit. I despise it and cannot wait until I am shut of it, but I cannot afford to replace it right now.

I am quite pleased with the memory foam slash support foam mattress I bought on Amazon. For sleep, its the best I have had since a waveless waterbed. For recreation… its way better than anything else, including the waterbed.
Time will tell how it holds up, but its one piece, with a 20 year full replacement warrantee.
I have been thinking about that a long time. Do you find that the foam reflects heat back at you when it’s warm? I have had that complaint of other foam mattresses.
Lbeda. We have had one of there’s for years (10 ?) and it sleeps as good as when we got it. My wife is tiny so waterbeds, which I love, she hates. Personally I have never liked something you by of late night TV.
Lbeda is a local bed maker here in Iowega. The one we got as a little more that 1k when we got it, but that has been the best money I ever spent.
We had one for about 10 years. Then we got rid of it and bought a TempurPedic mattress to put on top of the Select Comfort foundation.
We love the damn TempurPedic. We dread traveling anymore because we sleep so well on it.
I just wish we could have afforded to go whole-hog and buy a complete king set. As it was we were sort of stuck with a queen. But we still love it.
Not the first time I’ve heard that… and they are NOT cheap!!!
Love the foam 10 years now. Hated the guest bed select comfort we were on for a weekend.
I have a memory foam mattress topper I am giving serious thought to running out to the dumpster. Damn thing sleeps way too hot.
It is rather old, though, so who knows? Maybe they’ve fixed that.
I had a foam mattress years back, and it always felt like I was sleeping on a damp sponge. The least bit of sweat and it was bloody uncomfortable. The memory foam mattress topper i have now, though, doesn’t seem so bad.
I have a leak proof pad on top for warranty purposes.
I always thought tha would cause me to sweat and it hasn’t.
Bought a queen sized TempurPedic about 10 years ago, but bought a king bed frame 5 years ago along with a king Tempur knockoff from Sam’s Club for about 20% of what the Tempur mattress and foundation cost. Since the woman I was sleeping with at the time was short, I bought a pair of ‘bunkie boards’ as a foundation which only increased the total height by a couple of additional inches. I’d rather sleep on the floor than on anything else except a suitably heated full motion waterbed.
I’m gonna look at a tempur style mattress for the tactical RV. Right now I’m happy with the 5 inch thick tempered foam pad that came with it. Since I can’t use a laptop on my chest w/o bumping the ceiling, indoor sports in the loft are gonna be kinda restricted.
