Isn’t it wonderful
an acquaintence said, that the Pope is finally welcoming homosexuality and abortion into Catholicism?
How do people actually live like this? Does it hurt to be this stupid?
there is, to my knowledge, nobody who is not welcome into the Catholic Church. The doors of some of them are open 24/7. Show up. Come in. Sit down and listen, it doesn’t cost a thing.
The idea that somehow gays and people who have had abortions or support abortions are not or have not been welcome into the church is a level of ignorance that can only be accurately described as superhuman. Everyone is always welcome.
The church condemns that behavior, but it condemns other behaviors as well. In the last year, I have done things that make sucking dick seem like a sunday school activity. Everyone sins. I do more than most, and I get my ass to church each sunday because I feel like I need a lot more help than most.
If you feel uncomfortable in church because you support abortion or you’re gay, then, that’s on you. Nobody ever told you to stay away (No Christian, anyway) and nobody ever told you you aren’t welcome.
The bottomline is the abortion supporters and the gays want their philosophies to be integrated into Catholicism, and they won’t be. So they are trying to destroy what they can’t infiltrate.
The pope’s message was not about welcoming people. Everyone is always welcome. The pope’s message, dumb as it is, is that we should not make the dialog about abortion and homosexuality. But then, of course, it never has been.
Morons. I’m finding it hard not to agree with Malthus here- we might be better off without humans if this is the best team we can field. (OK, not really, but damn)

the left and the anti-religious are always quoting the Pope out of context to make their favorite perversions seem “good” now. Funny, they they didn’t care what the Pope was saying when it was something like, “you are all going to burn in Hell”, which, I think is still part of Catholic doctrine WRT unrepentant sinners.
I’m a (choke!!, gasp) Mormon. LDS services can be and usually are a wee bit dry. So every once in a while I’ll go to a Catholic church and soak up the music and ritual. It makes me feel wonderful. I’ve talked to the Priest at the church I infest and he has made me as welcome as if we were related. We sometimes compare what each of our faiths entail and have found that we agree on much more that we disagree on.
Gerry: back in the day, I even went to a Mormon service myself. I was kinda bored.
A church that won’t let sinners in is like a hospital that wont let sick people in.
I’ve been in a bunch of churches off and on. None that claim allegiance to Mohammed, but I know I would not be welcome there.
We have a member who is currently going through some type change. He was Chris but is now Claire. No one has thrown her out and she still plays the piano for some services.
My take is she is confused about life, but what do I know.
I know we have some practicing gay people as well. We still have yet to pillory them.
The left is trying the squirrel trick again. Don’t let them.
