Tell the Zamboni driver not to hit Earth Wind and Fire.
Not the kind of thing you ever suspect you’d hear, but right now I’m watching a special on Bravo: “Earth Wind and Fire: Tribute on Ice”.
Now, I’ve racked my brain trying to come up with any possible connection between EWF and Ice Skating, and i cannot. Nor Brian Boitano. Nor McCormack Spice, who is sponsoring this. Now, I like EWF, and the music has always been enjoyable, but Keeryst on a crutch, folks, this is the goofiest thing I’ve seen since….. Oh, since five thirty today, when I was watching “destroy all monsters”.
What would Brian Boitano do?
Apparently, we now know that Brian Boitano would skate while EWF sings.
I’m at my aunt’s house, and I get my cousin to change the TV from his Raymond marathon (a show about nothing but arguing family – I’ve lived it, so why do I have to watch someone else do it?). Where does he land but on Bravo, I’m sure to teach me a lesson.
The skaters come out, so I figure what the heck, better background TV than Raymond’s mom, but then it kicks into this Earth Wind & Fire thing that’s so Monty Python that even he has to kick it over to the news channel to wash the screen off from that experience and cleanse it. I just wonder what acid trip from hell inspired that show idea.
