Minus 13.
We have had winters colder than this. it was colder than this 14 years ago today. We have just been spoiled by a long succession of warm winters.
I stayed in today, not so much because of the cold but the roads are still a mess and the street in front of our house has one lane, which was just cleared by an earthmover, there not being enough plows to go around at the moment.
I hate it, but it is what it is. I have no compelling desire to move south, and no specific interest in trading cold winters for year round critter infestations. The weather is what it is. I have so gotten used to mild weather that I wasn’t as diligent about the house prep, I won’t make that mistake again.

Yep. Welcome to the Midwest. We are waiting to see where the kids land and will probably relocate then.
Creepy Crawlies on one of the main sticking points going to some place like Florida.
Smelled something electrical on the car this am. I am hoping it was the city truck ahead of me rather than me.
Cold is like old age. Not for weenies.
“Not for weenies”
You said a mouthful there, boss.
You shouldn’t be going anywhere anyway. Your county is still under a “no travel” warning.
Do like me. Stay in. Let the sun today and rain later this week melt the snow :)
Los Angeles has great climate and virtually no creepy crawlies — as long as you ignore what’s in our govt at every level.
a few years ago I went to visit a girl in FL. New Year’s Eve, I walked out of a restaurant, got in the truck & heard it was 78 degrees. Ever since, I’ve been making plans. Soon as my company expands there, or I win the lottery, I’m gone. I can ride year-round. Well, hell, I do that now, but I freeze my ass of part of the time, & the steel in my leg hollers louder every winter. Good thing I don’t need the back brake much.
