I love LA!
From afar, obviously. But here it is from Anear. The view from the top of Pascal’s health club, the vaunted LAAC. A very nice club, and a very nice setup. Hell, I’d join just for the reading rooms.

On the other hand I’d avoid the bloody racquetball courts like the plague. Pascal plays despite being of more advanced age than I, though he has a built in chiropractor, which helps, no doubt
Interesting to see the RKO radio tower with my own eyes.

UPDATE: Lest anyone think, as Pascal says, that I have taken a big swig of the Kool Ade, I was making a reference to this song:
Which I do, actually, love. And I love Laura Howard Granito, who was the “Big old nasty redhead”- she was in several videos at the time, and she looked nice in those high waisted pants.
LA itself, if it weren’t for hot open top cars and old friends, I would never get anywhere near it. The city is a good place to be from.

Tres cool.
Tell Pasc I said hi.
Wasn’t she in David Lee Roth’s “California Girls” video, too?
I think you are correct, John
Hello, I realize this is an old post but wanted to make a clarification to the above comment. I was in Randy Newman’s “I Love LA” video. However, I was not in the two he made after which featured the redhead. I had married and moved from Los Angeles when those were made. I also was not in David Lee Roth’s video. I was, however, in Weird Al’s “I Lost on Jeopardy” and “UHF” videos. Thanks for the compliment above. I liked those Guess jeans too. Regards, Laura
I think it is so cool and surreal that Laura Howard Granito replied to this. Its just an iconic image. She really looked good in that old Buick cruising down all those LA boulevards. She is a beautiful redhead but not nasty.
