Minus 12 a few weeks ago was all it took to freeze the pipe. Watch out when it warms up, you could have a flood if you have any pipes in exterior wall’s such as a sill cock.

Yeah, we are looking at below zero through the end of the week. Lots of people are complaining they are done with winter. Reinforces my thought that hell is cold as that gets people more riled up than unending heat.
That’s what I’m screaming. If I see that fat bastard the temptation to kick his sphincter up around his shoulder blades will be damned near irresistable.

I’ll be the loyal opposition to Paul B’s take on this one. Summer is when people riot and foment upheaval. Only the Russians are crazy enough to revolt in December, and only the Germans and French are stupid enough to invade a cold country in the midst of winter. Summer is when you beat the s*** out of the wag who asks one time too many, “Hot enough for you?” Summer is b.o., pit stains, you can’t put on a decent set of dress clothes. Between West Nile bearing mosquitos and weapon bearing hood rats, the notion of sleeping the night outside on the hammoock like grandpa did is out, so you soak the bed and hope it dries out before the next evening.
Let’s see: when I get heat prostration, I get light headed, the horizon starts to bob, everything loses its color and turns black and white, then I fall over and pass out. Since I crossed 40, add instant diarrhea to the mix. I can dress well for the cold and not get frost bitten.
“Chicago officials touting the city’s crime statistics don’t have anything on Northwest Indiana. The Northwest Indiana Times reports the area recorded zero homicides in January– a month that averages about five. Local leaders aren’t crediting any special police tactics only the cold and snowy weather. LaPorte County Coroner John Sullivan said they have not recorded any homicides in 2014; “When it’s 15 below no one is out,†he said, “not the good guys or the bad guys.†Porter County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Larry LaFlower said crime in January was down 50 percent from January 2013 in all major crime categories. Gary’s chief quoted in the Northwest Indiana Times as saying Mother Nature did what 246 police officers could not do– and that’s slow down crime.”

But it’s not just me:
