As events unfold
As the wingnuthead administration jockeys to take us all to war, while handing out marriage certificates to idiots and opening the doors of dope stores and ensuring that millions more innocents be murdered in the name of convenience, One is called to wonder, why, if the sane outnumber the insane, have we left the lunatics in charge of the asylum?
I know HOW, certainly. Conservatives are following their liberal masters and eschewing the polls each time they don’t get precisely the candidate they want- Man, did Ross Perot teach the liberals a trick or two!- so the odds of us dragging this country back to the right get slimmer each election. What am I talking about- the odds of dragging it back to the MIDDLE.
Savage, lunatic that he is, predicts a shooting war. If it comes to that we will assuredly lose, because the left has the media and the court of public opinion. I don’t see this going well. Trouble is our backs are against the wall- there is no place else to go.

F*cking ray of sunshine this morning, aren’t you?
If it comes to a shooting war, we don’t have to storm the cities. We just have to sit outside and shoot the few people to try to escape, and let the rest of the folks eat each other.
Cut off power, cut off food, and watch the cities burn as they destroy themselves from the inside out.
I actually think Savage is right, but not for the reasons he lays out. I think that what cannot go on forever will not, and when the government has no more money to pay off the Free Shit Army, and all the EBT cards flash zeros at the McDonald’s, they’re going to go on a rampage. The war won’t be started by a bunch of Threepers who are waiting for the “III” signal to appear in the sky, it’ll be touched off by riots from the FSA when they don’t get their Free Shit on time.
Read the late Vince Flynn’s first book, “Term Limits”, if you get a chance.
It has an interesting sub-plot in dealing with the media as part of the problem.
Is the book’s plotline a desirable turn of events? No, not really, but it most certainly is thought provoking.

I will read that, Jim.
Dave, save me a spot on a ridge.
The only way to get the government back is to change the tune.
I am reminded that the Free Press brought down Richard Nixon when he used the IRS on his enemies.
We have lost the “Free Press”, if we ever had one.
I have quit listening to any radio but religious channels and I do not read the news paper and I watch little TV.
Until we get the press back, this will only get worse.
The “free press” will most certainly be among the first casualties.
If want a blow by blow script for the coming ungluing of the US read “One Second After” by William R. Forstchen.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Second_After
From wiki…
“The novel deals with an unexpected electromagnetic pulse attack on the United States as it affects the people living in and around the small American town of Black Mountain, North Carolina.”
If we are recommending good reads. I would recommend Empire by Orson Scott Card. Yes, it is fiction. No it’s not Ender’s Game space war but it is a really good read and mirrors a lot of what is going on these days.
I’m neither young nor particularly old, (at cough49spit) but the phrase “to hell in a handbasket” increasingly occurs to me. I figure all I can do is try to make my immediate vicinity a better place: the world at large will have to look after itself. So will the country; this saddens me a bit, having served it thinking I was preserving something I knew was both sacred & damned unusual.
I’m not The One, & until His return all I can do is try & preserve a little corner of safety, sanity, and yes, damn it, honor. If TSHTF in any scenario & it costs me my life, well, that’s a blank check up-to-&-including that I signed a long time ago. I can die knowing I gave it my best shot (literally).
“…And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods? ”
Forgive my long-winded post.
