Had to think
about how long it had been since I had a tetanus shot. Since I couldn’t remember I went and got one, which I discovered you can now do at Walgreens.
The pharmacist even looked at my headwound and pronounced it “healing ok”.
I did spend the rest of the day on my hands and knees laying tile, which caused the mother to start bleeding again a couple times, but I think the worst of it is over, anyway.
And now I’m good for tetanus for another ten years.

Yeah, at least you’re good for the ‘next’ problem… I had to do the same thing last year when I took a chunk out of my thumb.
Faced with the same problem, despite no immediate need for one, I went in for a tetanus shot in 1990. Since then, every year that ends in a zero earns me a tetanus shot, needed or not. Very much simplifies the recod keeping.
Yeah, suppose it’s bout time for a booster, here.
Gotta find me a cute nurse to administer it though. No reason it should all be suffering n’ anguish.

Actual conversation, on my wife’s birthday a year and a half ago: “What do you want to do for your birthday?”. “Get a tetanus booster”. Blink blink. “OK…” And so we did.
Hmmm, think I got one a few years back…I suppose if I don’t remeber the shot I should get one.
I’m due for my next tetanus booster in December. How time does fly.
My last conversation touching on this at the doc’s office:
“Have you had a tetanus shot in the last few years?”
“Oh yeah.”
